Founded in 2000, Art -To-Go is an annual exhibit and sales program that supports the Artists Fund, which provides financial aid to artists who suffer from economic hardship due to illness, personal injury or natural disaster. All of the artwork is generously donated by the Festival’s exhibitors. Sponsored in-part by Witford.
Junior Art Exhibition
Children and adults alike will enjoy the Junior Art Exhibition, a juried junior show featuring paintings and drawings by some 300 Orange County school children, K-12, on display in the Junior Art Gallery.
Printmaking Workshop
Cancer survivor and expert printmaker and painter Anne England will teach mono-printing, embossing and relief printing at the Festival this summer. "Art begins the minute that you're born," Anne says. "Babies notice movement and feel texture. I bring this inborn artistic awareness to all of the classes I teach, both here and abroad in Italy." Printmaking activities are free with Festival of Arts admission and scheduled daily.
RAKU Ceramic Workshop
Monica Dunham, specialist in raku yaki ceramics, teaches raku ceramic glazing. "This art form for all ages began in the 16th Century, with the Japanese tea ceremony," Monica says. "Raku means to be serendipitous, spontaneous and free. Characteristics of this style are the random crackle and opalescence of the glaze and the blackened surface of the unglazed surface of the clay. Each piece is where fire, earth and chance merge, so each piece is one-of-a-kind!" This hands-on activity is held each Wednesday and Saturday during the summer from 11:00 to 4:30. There is a minimal material fee of $17.00 and up per ceramic pot.
