As the 2019 NAACP Best supporting actress award winner for her role in the Broadway bound musical Born For This, Nita is also a favorite singer of legendary producer David Foster. Having sung with some of the most famous voices of our time including duets with Andre Bocelli, Michael Bolton and Josh Groban, she sang the original demos for Whitney Houston’s standards, “I Will Always Love You”, “I Have Nothing” and “I Look to You” working with producers David Foster and Harvey Mason Jr.

A featured vocalist who toured with jazz trumpeter Chris Botti, Nita has performed with some of the great singers and writers of our time including Burt Bacharach, BabyFace, Carol Bayer Sager, Patti Austin, James Ingram, Steve Tyrell, Lionel Ritchie, Yolanda Adams, Patti LaBelle, and Barbara Streisand.

A former Miss Louisiana and Grand Champion Hall of Fame Star Search Winner, Nita has been a constant performer on countless charity events such as Andre Agassi’s Foundation, Muhammed Ali’s Celebrity Fight Night, Starkey Hearing Foundation and The David Foster Foundation galas for many years. Nita’s body of work includes performance in four world premiere’s musicals: “Ragtime”, “Ten Commandments the Musical”, “Breaking Through” at Pasadena Playhouse, and most recently as Mom Winans (Delores) in “Born For This, The Musical” at the Majestic Theater in Boston for which she received a nomination from the Independent Reviewers of New England (IRNE) for 2019.

There are 4 independent records by Nita and an award-winning memoir entitled: Finding My Voice.  She founded a 501c3 non-profit www.inaworldwithbooks.org, that has given 7000 underserved children new books. And most importantly, she is the mother of two beautiful robustly talented artists, Skye and Liisi LaFontaine. The best is yet to come!

Concerts are free with Festival of Arts Admission. Limited seating available in reserved section for $40 per person per concert. Reservations must be made prior to 9pm the night before the performance.
