About the Class

Turn trash into treasure in this eco-friendly art class! Students will use everyday items like paper and plastic to create beautiful, one-of-a-kind art pieces that would otherwise end up in the trash. It’s a creative way to explore the power of ‘reduce, reuse, and recycle’ while making something special. Let imagination take recycling to the next level!

About the Instructor

Janice AlthouseJanice Althouse has been an educator for 28 years in the Saddleback Valley Unified School District. She has taught various grades, though her favorite is 2nd. Happily married and with three grown children, Janice has taught art classes for many years after exploring art classes in college. She feels art is an amazing way to express yourself and believes that all art is so beautiful to look at – whether you’re talking about children’s art or adult art. Janice loves art and thinks that getting started in any kind of art medium is the first step to becoming creative. She is so excited to be given the opportunity to teach at the Festival of Arts this year.
