Youth Arts: Ceramics – Boats

Kids will set sail on a creative adventure as they learn to build their very own ceramic boat! Using inspiration from the world around them, they’ll explore patterns, tools, and their imagination to craft a unique piece. Glazing is the perfect next step to add vibrant color—your child can return the following week to add the finishing touch. Come aboard for this fun, hands-on journey of creativity! Students can return to pick up their boat once it has been fired in the kiln.

Andrew Selegean is a sculptural ceramic artist with over 10 years of experience in clay, as well as experience with glass and metal. He started his studies at Saddleback College and went on to receive his BFA in ceramics at California State University, Fullerton. He currently works out of the studio at Santa Ana College.

Parents or guardians are required to fill out and sign a waiver before their child can participate in the Youth Art Classes. Waivers will be available to sign before the start of the class. You can expedite the check-in process by printing and bringing the signed waiver with you.
