Artist Biography:

Winning his first attempt at showing his creative side, Ray won the Arizona’s State Fair hobby-show sweepstakes at age 10. From then on he continued to develop his creative ability, winning shows in high school and beyond. His unique style of pouring, splattering, and dripping acrylic paint began in 1961. That year he began exhibiting at the Festival of Arts until his passing in 2007. Ray liked to describe his work as a “controlled accident.”
