Artist Biography:
David Rosen was born in Toronto, Canada. He studied at Cooper Union Art School in New York City. During the Depression he joined the Federal Arts Project where he worked in the now infamous Siqueiros Art Workshop, along side the likes of Phillip Guston and Jackson Pollock. During WWII he enlisted as a Merchant Seaman. Afterwards, moving west to California, he settled in Laguna Beach, where he had a studio for 30+ years. His major interest was combining representational figurative work with an expressionist attitude.
