It’s good to be busy right? Some pretty daunting deadlines are looming for the Pageant. We’re certainly “on our toes” as we are putting finishing touches on our tableaux originally created by acknowledged masters from the art world. And the Pageant team is rising to the challenge.

Did you know that three of our masters in the show lineup actually attended a Pageant of the Masters? The great Norman Rockwell visited in 1949. Felix de Weldon, sculptor of the U.S. Marine Corps War Memorial in Arlington National Cemetery, lived for a time in Dana Point and was the Pageant’s honored guest in 1998. And modern living legend David Hockney happily toured the backstage and examined our sets up close. He was the nicest chap imaginable, and in the parlance of the U.K., I think he was really “chuffed” by what he witnessed here.

Standby for a traditional, majestic and yet surprisingly fresh Pageant. Opening night is just around the corner!
