ARTIST STATEMENT
“I create Ukrainian decorated eggs in the centuries-old technique of wax-resist and dyes. Each egg is created using symbolic designs and colors that embrace the tradition and culture of the heritage of Ukraine.”
ARTIST BIO
Being of Ukrainian descent and raised by an artist mother, Adriana was taught to express her creativity as early as age 6. By the time she was 9, she was assisting her mother at art shows and teaching pysanka classes, and at 12, she taught her first solo class. Adriana started creating pysanka for sale when she was 18 and has been going strong ever since. Adriana has exhibited at renowned museums, including LACMA, Getty Center, LA Natural History Museum, and Bowers Museum. Creating this traditional art and sharing it with others keeps the Ukrainian heritage thriving in the artist’s heart.
