ARTIST STATEMENT

“Printmaking allows me to explore color, texture and mark making. By printing one layer over another, each piece carries a history of itself, hinting at earlier incarnations.”

ARTIST BIO

Anne’s introduction to printmaking seemed a random happenstance as she was trying to fill one more required class for a BA in another field. Now, after thirty years of printmaking, Anne has developed her own artistic voice and unique style among printmakers.

Looking for beauty, balance, and a sense of mystery, her technical yet intuitive process results in one-of-a-kind works of art that blend color, text and mark making. Her subtle calligraphic imagery resonates with our desire to understand other cultures, places and times in history.

Anne has been an exhibitor at the Laguna Festival of Arts for sixteen years. Her original monoprints have appeared in an international clothing line, as well as articles in Western Art and Architecture and Letter Arts Review. They have also been featured in various promotional materials, CD covers, and a printmaking textbook. Her collectors range across the US and Canada.

Anne’s work can be seen at Sandstone Gallery in Laguna Beach and at her home-studio by appointment.
