ARTIST STATEMENT

“I have been a commercial photographer for 35 years, but I now concentrate more on fine art photography. A subject that fascinates me is documenting people in their environment around the world in exotic locations.”

ARTIST BIO

Barbara was a commercial photographer specializing in architectural photography for 35 years, and in the last 20 years, has been concentrating more and more on doing fine art photography. She has a great interest in landscape and wildlife photography, which takes her to many places in the Western Hemisphere – the Colorado Plateau, the National Parks, South America, and Antarctica. In the last few years, she has been concentrating on the photography of birds.

She was born in Los Angeles, and grew up in Orange, CA. After attending the University of Arizona and getting a BA in Education, she spent the next 20 years as a housewife and mother before starting her photography career. This year will be her eleventh year exhibiting at the Festival of Arts in Laguna Beach, and she has been involved in many other group shows.
