ARTIST STATEMENT
“Inspired by the beauty of nature, we merge fine woodworking with thoughtful design to create functional, sculptural vases that celebrate both the environment and mid-century modernism.”
ARTIST BIO
As collaborators, Jonathan Boyd and Valerie Killeen bring together two distinct yet complementary practices—Boyd’s fine woodworking and Killeen’s design expertise—to create forms that blend nature, craftsmanship and functionality. Boyd’s woodturning draws inspiration from the knots and organic forms found in raw wood. Primarily working with reclaimed and responsibly sourced materials, his work is both sustainable and sculptural, honoring the material’s past while creating pieces that are timeless and beautiful. Killeen’s designs are informed by mid-century modernism and offer a considered approach to the intersection of aesthetics and simplicity. Boyd and Killeen are married; they create and reside in San Clemente.
