ARTIST BIO
Courtney Ryan is a self-inspired, self-taught metalsmith. In 2017 she decided to make her lifelong dream of becoming a professional Artist a reality and dove head first into metal work. What would follow was a deeply personal and spiritual journey of self-study & discovery. As she evolved and expanded so did her art, which led her to work with Master Metalsmith Nicole Ringgold. With a few short term expansive workshops, she would fall wildly in love with sculpting metal.
Courtney found her artistic voice by finding a way to encapsulate her love for the natural world through metal and flame. With innate attention to detail and willingness to push the boundaries of traditional jewelry, her pieces are incredibly unique. Whether it is creating the softness of a flower petal out of sheet metal, etching a secret detail into the back of the piece, her work is captivating. Each piece is a one of a kind, created one at a time. Hand forged to not only inspire the wearer, but connect them to themselves and the natural world from which she draws her inspiration.
Based in Southern CA with her Husband, two amazing Children and a lot of animals, Courtney has been a featured Artist at the Laguna Beach Sawdust Festival and is now a juried participant in The Festival of Arts. Courtney attributes her success to desire, relentless drive, hard work, and dedication.
