“My paintings capture the rich traditions of the early California watercolor scene artists. I use expressive color and brushstrokes, bold calligraphy, and transparent washes to capture the delight of the moment.”

ARTIST BIO

Eileen McCullough is a plein air watercolor artist. She lives in Huntington Beach, California, and has made her hometown her favorite subject. She captures the life of those who live along the coast. She celebrates daily activities such as walking your dog, hiking through the wetlands, or beach volleyball. She chooses to break from traditional painting concepts such as light source, perspective, local color, and form. Her stylized paintings reflect not what she sees but what she feels. Eileen is currently the president of Watercolor West.
