“My hammer and the anvil, the torch and the fire—these are the rhythms and the melodies; the jewelry is my song.”

ARTIST BIO

In 1972, John Tolle started his journey by making spoon rings. He began exhibiting in the Festival of Arts in 1973. He opened Spooncraft Gallery in 1974, focusing on his signature hand-sculpted inlay jewelry. Eventually, he participated in 30–40 art shows annually nationwide and marketed wholesale accounts in about 60 stores, including the Beverly Wilshire, the Broadway, and I. Magnin’s Tiber collection. By the mid-80s, he retired his art show schedule and wholesale accounts, focusing on his showroom and the Festival of Arts. Today, the Tolle Designs gallery is located at 1929 S. Coast Hwy, Laguna Beach.
