ARTIST STATEMENT
“My work comes from a desire to create jewelry in the natural world. Wearing these rings is carrying a piece of nature’s resilience and growth, creating a sustainable, lightweight, and one-of-a-kind connection to the earth.”
ARTIST BIO
Kevin is a Laguna beach-based jewelry designer and maker dedicated to uncovering the sculptural potential of wood. Combining a reverence for natural materials with modern, minimalist aesthetics, Kevin transforms raw timbers into wearable, lightweight works of art. Their work often highlights the grain, texture, and organic imperfections of the wood, encouraging a tactile connection between the wearer and the natural world.
With a background in construction and self taught in woodworking, Kevin meticulously selects ethically sourced hardwoods, reclaimed lumber, and exotic burls for their pieces. Each item is carved, sanded, and finished by hand, often incorporating ring cores with sterling silver, carbon fiber, copper, titanium, stainless steel and tungsten along with resin to create a sophisticated contrast between organic and refined materials. Their signature style focuses on dyed and natural wood.
Kevin’s jewelry has been featured in many art shows and is frequently praised for its comfort and organic elegance. Driven by a passion for sustainability, they aim to create enduring pieces that reconnect people to nature in their daily lives.
