ARTIST BIO

Infrared photography exposes energy beyond the visual spectrum, creating an ethereal, dreamlike quality.  The images first startle, then intrigue the viewer, inviting the subconscious to come out and play.

Linda Grossman first began working with infrared film over 20 years ago, drawn to this medium’s unique ability to uncover energy beyond our visual spectrum.

On an overcast day, one feels the energy of a storm brewing.  In nature, one sees the beauty of lush foliage, but only senses the life force within the plants.  Infrared uncovers these forces. This medium evokes a powerful visceral response, by exposing the subconscious elements just beyond what can be seen by the naked eye.

Linda’s work has won awards, both locally and internationally, including recognition from National Geographic.  Her dual careers as psychologist and artist, combined with her insatiable love of travel, have inspired the images before you.
