ARTIST BIO

Born in the beautiful Adriatic coastal city of Trieste, Italy, Luciano has always been drawn to the beauty of color, design and form. He immigrated to Australia at 12 years old and discovered what would become his life long passion. OPAL.

Encouraged by his uncle who lived in Coober Pedy, the Opal capital of the world, he immersed himself in the study of this most precious and rare gem.

At 18, he was accepted into an apprenticeship with a world renowned master Opal cutter. Luciano’s natural talent for bringing out the unique beauty of the rough stone, precision in cutting and working with the precious gem was quickly recognized and won Luciano many accolades in Australia and abroad.

Luciano ventured further into developing his talents as a master artisan and goldsmith. He works on every aspect of the creation of his pieces from their conception to their rightful place on the human form and this authenticity is beautifully translated into the perfection of his designs. Only the finest gem quality opals are used.

For over 30 years Luciano has been a celebrated artist at the famous Laguna Beach Festival of Arts, home to the Pageant of the Masters in Laguna Beach, California.

His work is featured in exclusive Fine Jewelry stores and Galleries in the U.S. and Europe.
