“My hope is that the individual senses a blend of both the antiquated and the contemporary while viewing my work.”

ARTIST BIO

Mark Hendrickson is a fourth generation Californian, who currently works and resides in Tustin California, with his wife Karin, and his son Clark. In the early 1970’s a friend taught Mark some basic hand building techniques, and then how to “throw a pot” on a potters wheel, and Mark became hooked on Ceramics. He liked it so much so, as to become a Fine Arts major with an emphasis in ceramics and sculpture. Captivated by ancient ceramic pottery, and other works of antiquity, Mark started experimenting with different methods of achieving an “aged” looking surface on his work, which led him to his current method of “stretching” clay into his many and varied forms.
