ARTIST BIO
Michael Situ is a nationally recognized and award-winning artist in the United States. He is a Master Signature Member of Oil Painters of America, and a Signature Member of American Impressionist Society, California Art Club, and Laguna Plein Air Painters Association. He is a contemporary artist of American Impressionism style. He known for his luminous and rich color of the golden coastline, colorful sunset and various subject matter that capture his imagination. Powerful compositions, strong brushwork, and a gorgeous sense of color all come together in perfect harmony, making him a master of plein air painter.
He is a full time professional artist whose artwork has been exhibited in numerous national museums and participate in major invitational plein air competitions. He has been an exhibiting artist every year at Festival of Arts in Laguna Beach since 2002. His paintings are collected by museums and numerous private collections throughout the United States and internationally. Michael has published two art books “The Overseas Oil Painter of China-The Oil Painting of Michael Situ” and “Michael Situ’s Oil Paintings”. International Artist magazine, Art of West, Plein Air magazine and Modern Impressionist Magazine and other art magazines have featured and highlighted his artist and paintings.
