ARTIST BIO

Michael Situ is a nationally recognized and award-winning artist in the United States. He is a Master Signature Member of Oil Painters of America. Signature Member of American Impressionist Society, California Art Club and Laguna Plein Air Painters Association. Growing up in China where he studied at the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Art. He immigrated to America in 1989 and now lives in Southern California.

Situ is a full time professional artist whose artwork has been exhibited in numerous national museums and major invitational plein air competition. His paintings are collected at the museum and numerous private collections throughout the United States and internationally. He has been an exhibiting artist every year at the Festival of Arts in Laguna Beach since 2002. Various art publications such as International Artist magazine, Art of the West, Plein Air magazine have featured his artwork. His first art book “The Overseas Oil Painter of China-The Oil Painting of Michael Situ” published in China 2008. Second art book “Michael Situ’s Oil Paintings” published in China 2018. Michael has been received of numerous national awards including “Moulton Museum Award” and “Quick Draw Award” at Laguna Plein Air Painting Invitation. “Silver Medal Award” and “Seascape Award of Excellence” at Oil Painters of America National Juried Exhibition. “First Place” at Carmel Art Festival. “First Place” at Huntington Beach Art Center Plein Air Festival. “First Place” at the San Clemente Plein Air Painting Competition and many more.
