NANCY HOLLY (On Sabbatical)
“We have the choice whether to look on a thing with fear or with love. Looking through my lens I choose love every time.”
Born and raised in Laguna Beach, California, Nancy’s artistic sense and appreciation were shaped early on by its historic influence.
Classically trained as a portrait artist, Nancy developed a unique and highly recognized style that renders her photographic vision of the “Portrait of the Horse.” Her travels into the world of America’s iconic Wild Mustang have produced a series of portraits that record and define this classic American beauty. Nancy goes beyond taking a picture of what she sees; she reaches within, taking a picture of how what she sees makes her feel ~ believing it is this personal vulnerability that provides the viewer with an opportunity to experience an exceptional moment of equine grace and glory.
Over the past eight years, jurors of nationally top-ranked art festivals have invited Nancy to showcase her images. Nancy also exhibits in solo artist shows and has several installations hanging in Orange County establishments. From February to June 2015 her images were a major part of a wild horse exhibit on display at the Wildling Museum in Solvang, CA. Due to the positive response from patrons of various shows and festivals, Nancy’s work currently hangs in businesses and residences of private collectors worldwide.
