ARTIST STATEMENT

“My work is inspired by the coastal landscape. Influenced by its atmospheric light, I paint with diffused, transparent layers to reflect the eternal.”

ARTIST BIO

Sharon Hutchison is a Newport Beach–based artist whose oil paintings reflect her love of coastal light and the beauty of God’s creation. A graduate of the California College of the Arts, she traveled through Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa before founding Sharon Hutchison Studio, creating murals and decorative works for clients in Southern California and abroad. She continued refining her craft through plein air and figure painting workshops, including a summer at an art school in Umbria, Italy. Since 2014, she has focused on fine art painting, exhibiting at the Laguna Beach Festival of Arts and in juried shows, with work currently featured at Elizabeth Benefield Interior Design in Costa Mesa.
