“I want to convey the idea that as we recall memories, they come to us as fragmented pieces. The hazy shapes hide some of the detail, reflecting our imperfect memories.”
Susan is starting her 20th year as an exhibitor in the Festival of Arts, having served as a juror twice and has explored different mediums and themes over the years. She has heard, numerous times, that she reinvents herself but says that she enjoys the process of growing as an artist. She now works in Oils and is presenting her new collection titled, “Fading Memories” which explores how we recall our memories, not as clear images but as fragmented pieces.
Susan Cox grew up in Southern California and was educated in Fine Arts at California State University Long Beach – studying Painting and Ceramics. She painted in watercolor, in England where she lived for 14 years and exhibited in the Federation of British Artist’s, Britain in Watercolours exhibition at the prestigious Mall Galleries.
National and regional publications have featured Susan’s work and ABC’s Wide World of Sports highlighted an opening segment with her illustration. She has been collected internationally and shown her work in galleries throughout California and England.
