“Journey with me as I tell stories of everyday life of women and children in rural Africa, life here on our local beaches, landscapes from my travels or just a simple studio still-life.”

ARTIST BIO

Toni Danchik’s interest in art was formed at a very young age while doing craft projects with family. After leaving high school, she studied printmaking at the Johannesburg Technical College, but ended up pursuing a career as an in-house graphic designer for a non- profit organization in South Africa for 10 years.

The artist’s spirit in her was awakened when she moved to the United States and was introduced to the early California Impressionists, the local plein air painters and the inspiring art of the Russian Impressionists that graced the walls of our local art galleries and museums.

She honed her skills as a fine art painter by taking many workshops with some of our country’s top, well recognized artists. Toni also enjoys teaching art classes at a local gallery in San Juan Capistrano called Mission Fine Art Gallery, where she is currently serving as a gallery director.

Her work has been displayed in many national juried competitions and shows like the OPA National and OPA Regional Shows and she has also had the privilege to have her work in the California Art Club Gold Medal Show (2019, 2020, 2022, 2023). Another career highlight was to be one of the exhibiting artists at the Festival of Arts in Laguna Beach California (2017, 2018, 2022, 2023). She was published in the California Art Club Quarterly Newsletter as the featured artist. Toni has often been called upon to do painting demonstrations for different art associations or to be a show judge for them.

The two charities that always tugs at Toni’s heart and that impacts the lives of Women and Children in Africa are:
Acres of Love | www.acresoflove.org. (South Africa)
Wells of Life | www.wellsoflife.org. (Uganda)

Quote by Jean Stern | Director Emeritus Irvine Museum | Art Historian | Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres

” Toni Danchik’s work is remarkable. It is an elegant combination of vibrant color and intimate significance. The viewer is drawn to both the beauty of her art and the compassion of her subjects, both in her African work, her portraits and her landscapes. In her own unique way Toni’s art tantalizes the viewer as it instills a deeply human message. No one paints with such passion and emotion as Toni”.
