\u201cMy intention is that my artwork gives the audience a brief escape from reality, immersing them in the peaceful, tranquil underwater world where I create my photographs.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

ARTIST BIO<\/strong><\/p>\n

In an overwhelmingly chaotic world, Southern California based underwater fine art portrait artist Cheryl Kelleher Walsh finds her inspiration in an atmosphere of peaceful solitude. In the depths of her underwater studio, she works with her camera in the quiet currents that slow down time, bring vibrancy to colors, and leave her subjects virtually weightless. Combining the science of working underwater with the art of photography she utilizes elaborate, unique, avant-garde costumes and styling with traditional portraiture to tell dream-like stories in each of her fine art series.<\/p>\n

Her internationally award winning art work is described alternately as old-world painterly or illustrative yet is entirely photographic and acclaimed for its ethereal and effortless feel, exquisite lighting, attention to fine detail, posing and color harmony.<\/p>\n

To maintain absolute control over her art Cheryl prints her images herself on specifically chosen fine art papers in sizes up to 44×66 inches finishing them with large, ornate, solid wood, gilded frames.<\/p>\n
