Young Guns Exhibit

January 10 – March 17, 2017

FoaSouth’s exhibit spotlights seven of the Festival of Arts’ younger exhibitors from the 2016 summer art show. Artists featured include Christopher Wayne Allwine (photographer), Trevor Christiansen (oils), Stefan Cummings (charcoal), Katlin Evans (charcoal), Elizabeth McGhee (painter), Mariana Nelson (mixed media) and Hugo Rivera (painter).

“Young Guns gives the public a glimpse of seven younger exhibitors whose inspired visions will define the next chapter of artists at the Festival of Arts,” said Exhibit Curator Pat Sparkuhl.

The art ranges from explorations in time-lapse photography, 3-D art made from recycled materials and paintings that capture the atmosphere of the landscapes they depict. This exhibit illustrates the skills developed by these artists whose fascination with common scenes and objects are transformed into fresh and unexpected results.

Opened as a collaboration between Festival of the Arts and Active Culture, foaSOUTH serves visitors and residents of Laguna Beach by promoting Festival-related exhibitions throughout the year. Located at 1006 S. Coast Highway on the corner of Anita and PCH, the gallery has partnered with Active Culture to provide frozen yogurt and natural foods on the premises at their café. Open weekdays from 10am – 9pm and weekends from 8am – 9pm. Click here for current exhibit information.
