The Festival of Arts is pleased to announce a new exhibit at foaSOUTH entitled “Landscapes” featuring the work of prominent landscape painters, Scott Albert and Jeff Horn. Their artwork will be on display through July 9, 2016. The public is invited to special receptions during First Thursdays Art Walk on May 5, June 2 and July 7 in Laguna Beach.
“Both painters are renowned for their distinctive styles,” said curator Pat Sparkuhl. “Scott captures scenic environments with extreme detail in his watercolor paintings and Jeff, a plein air painter, works outdoors to depict nature and seascapes. The exhibit is a stunning display of these artists’ passion for nature and artistic talent.”
Scott Albert and Jeff Horn will also be exhibiting in this summer’s Festival of Arts Fine Art Show July 5 – August 31, 2016.
ABOUT SCOTT ALBERT
Scott Albert graduated in 1983 from the University of Wisconsin-Stout with a Bachelor of Science in Fine Art degree and a concentration in Industrial Design. After graduation, he moved to Orange County and worked in product design for almost a decade. This time helped Scott to refine his skills and rediscover his true interest, to be a watercolor artist. He is self-taught in watercolors and mostly a studio painter, as this provides a controlled environment in which to work. In 2006, Scott’s work was accepted at the Festival of Arts of Laguna Beach, where he has had the privilege to exhibit for eleven consecutive years. He has also participated in a series of exhibits at the Wells Fargo Bank in Laguna Beach, Coastline Community College and foaSOUTH.
ABOUT JEFF HORN
Jeff Horn is a professor emeritus of Drawing and Painting from Irvine Valley College in Irvine California. He has exhibited at the Festival of Arts of Laguna Beach since 2000. He has exhibited his outdoor landscape paintings each summer at the Festival of Arts of Laguna Beach since 2000. Jeff has received several honors for landscape painting. He enjoys painting from nature while outdoors and he actively supports several land conservancy efforts in California with his paintings. In addition to the Festival of Arts Permanent Art Collection, his paintings are also part of collections of the Laguna Canyon Foundation and the Pacific Club in Newport Beach. Jeff is a Signature Member of the California Art Club and a Signature Member of the Laguna Plein Air Painters Association.
