The Festival is accepting applications for seasonal employment!

On this page you will find postings for seasonal positions for the months of July and August. Other seasonal positions may be posted closer to the start of the summer season. Most positions pay between $12 and $13 per hour and some positions may include a bonus based on sales.

Applicants may be subject to background checks and/or drug and alcohol screening. Job applicants who are under 18 and have not graduated from high school must be able to provide a work permit if hired.

Membership and Special Events Assistant

Description:

The Membership and Special Events Assistant reports to and provides administrative support to the Director of Membership and Special Events. This position is responsible for administrative tasks including: organizing and maintaining files and contact lists; maintaining a working calendar of the department’s events; answering inquiries from members; making changes to membership database; and sending out renewal notices. This position assists the manager with creatively planning and coordinating social events, in a style appropriate to an artistic environment, and acts as host/hostess at events, interacting with members or patrons as appropriate.

Hours:

This is a full-time, year-round, hourly position. Work hours off season are generally Monday – Friday from 9 am to 5 pm. Extended hours, nights, weekends during pre and peak season (June, July and August) and occasionally off-season.

Requirements:

Position requires the following:  excellent customer service skills, a polished personal presentation; able to answer telephones using appropriate etiquette; computer knowledge including proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel); excellent overall business-level communication and writing skills. Must be detail oriented, able to handle multiple priorities and follow through with minimal supervision. Prior experience in membership service, event planning, and non-profit environment are highly preferred.

Pageant Carpenter/ Technician

Description:

Under the supervision of the Technical Director, the Carpenter/Technician provides technical support for the production department. Constructs theatrical scenery using high-quality woodworking and metal-welding skills. Builds sets, props and scenic environments for the Pageant of the Masters. During rehearsals and run-of-show, assumes duties of a theatrical technician and stage crew member. Maintains and repairs sets as required.

Hours:

This is a full-time, year-round, salary non-exempt position. Work hours for January through mid-July are usually Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and weekly Thursday rehearsals from 7:00 pm to 10:30 pm.  Hours in June are usually Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm with some additional nights and weekends. In July and August this position is expected to work every evening from 7:30 to 11:00pm and in addition, must be “on-call” to work as needed, Monday through Saturday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.  Hours from September through December are Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Requirements:

  • Four years professional theatrical experience and/or bachelor’s degree in Technical Theatre.
  • Effective communication and writing skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Must interact with colleagues demonstrating diplomacy and tact.
  • Ability to abide by all safety and workplace policies and procedures.
  • Perform duties effectively in a team-based work environment.
  • Must also work independently on assigned projects, with minimal direction/instruction.
  • Understanding of backstage etiquette.
  • Working knowledge of technical theatre practices, equipment and terminology.
  • Must be able to work in an out-of-doors environment with various temperatures and weather conditions.
  • Ability to climb ladders, lifts, stairs, reach above head. Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, push, pull, and lift up and carry to 50 pounds.

Other desirable attributes are:

  • Knowledge and experience in theatrical lighting, sound and video production.
  • Ability to interpret and follow blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Basic knowledge of arithmetic and geometry.
  • Aesthetic/artistic sensibility.
  • Pride of craftsmanship, excellent work habits and a drive to complete projects.

The offer of employment for the final candidate is contingent upon satisfactory completion of and outcomes of a criminal background screening, and upon the acceptance of and returning to Human Resources, a signed original acceptance of the Agreement to Arbitrate.

PAGEANT

Pageant Stage Crew

Age Requirement

Must be 18 years or older

7:30pm – 10:45pm, 7 nights per week for 8 weeks

Description:

Moves Pageant of the Masters set pieces backstage on cue during performances.

Requirements:

Extremely dependable. Must be able to lift 25 lbs. Works every night from July 5 through August 31.  Must be 18 or over.

Description:

Patrol Festival grounds, provide security for staff, patrons, and artists; various  posts available.

Requirements:

Service oriented, good judgment, friendly, must be able to work outdoors, may have to walk up and down steps, must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time. Must be available one weekend day.

Pageant Usher

Age Requirement

Must be 16 years or older

Night shift, must be available from 7pm – 9pm (up to six days per week)

Description:

Assists patrons to seating locations. Download detailed usher information.

Requirements:

Friendly, service oriented, patient, able to walk up and down stairs, work outdoors in evenings, in various types of weather. Available nights, weekends, holidays.

Description:

Keeps grounds area clean and organized by sweeping, raking, wiping down tables, taking out trash, restroom cleaning and restocking, moving tables and chairs.

Requirements:

Dependable, friendly, service oriented, available weekends.  Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.  Works in an outdoor environment. No experience necessary.

ARTS EDUCATION

Art Center Workshop Staff

Age Requirement

Description:

Assists patrons in creating a wide array of art projects (ex: masks, paper making, marbling, scratch art, etc.)

Requirements:

Personable, outgoing, creative, formal/informal training with various art mediums helpful, available weekends, position stands for long periods of time, outside environment.

Ticket Sales and Services

Age Requirement

Description:

Sells reserved seats to Pageant of the Masters and provides auxiliary ticket services and Festival information.

Requirements:

Customer service skills, cash handling and computer skills, window and phone positions available; no telemarketing. Must be at least 18 or high school graduate. Day and/or evening shifts available. Available to work through August 31 or close to it.
