ARTIST STATEMENT

“I combine the techniques of two traditional mediums, watercolor and pen and ink, balancing evocative color washes and line textures, to create fresh and renewed interpretations of memorable places.”

ARTIST BIO

An architect for over forty years, Brad Neal retired in 2014 to pursue his lifelong interest in drawing and painting full time. He paints in oils and watercolors and centers his work around mixed media drawings which combine watercolor with pen and ink techniques. His art is grounded in realism and focuses on compelling local sights as well as favorite places and settings that he has discovered while working and traveling over the years, both domestically and abroad.

A Laguna Beach Festival of Arts exhibitor every year since 2018, Brad has received many awards for his work which has been exhibited in numerous juried art shows and is held in collections throughout the country.
