“I am an Assemblage Artist, and whether working with repurposed materials, broken pottery, or salvaged items from nature, it’s about putting these things together, telling a story, and creating something visually pleasing to the eye.”

ARTIST BIO

Carolyn Machado has exhibited at the Festival of Arts for over twenty-five years. She creates her assemblage pieces with recycled materials, collected and carefully curated over the years. She creates vignettes by laying out, moving around, and assembling the pieces until she finds a formation that speaks to her. She is drawn to materials that are naturally aged with imperfections and to the Asian aesthetic, focusing on simple lines and design.
