ARTIST STATEMENT

“The art is in paying attention. Attention to light, composition and what draws me in.”

ARTIST BIO

After 15+ years working on advertising and editorial photography sets as a wardrobe stylist, Sharon decided to pick up a camera and discovered her love of being behind the lens, finding and creating images herself. Her passion for landscape and fine art photography, grew from taking her son on road trips and documenting him in some of the most beautiful places in the west. When they didn’t have time for a bigger mother-son adventure, she began to wander around closer to home with eyes wide open looking for something special to capture. What she found was it’s often challenging to see what’s familiar in a new way. Of course, the challenge is also what makes the work rewarding and the art is in paying attention.

Sharon has been humbled by the accolades and appreciation of her work with two American Photographic Artist awards and one Communication Arts award. Her work is often chosen by local interior designers and she loves collaborating to create custom pieces. A new artist to the Festival of Arts, Sharon is excited for what a summer at the Pageant of the Masters holds and to be a part of an esteemed group of artists.
