ARTIST BIO

Yang Dong currently resides in Orange County, California. Inspired by his grandfather’s collections, Yang attended Tianjin Art School and was later accepted into the prestigious Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing. He has completed numerous monumental public sculptures and developed a style that integrates classical sculptural language with Eastern humanistic qualities. Yang has created over 100 shelf sculptures, many of which have won first or second place at exhibitions. His work reflects a clear, rigorous style and demonstrates the logic of figurative sculpture. One of Yang’s most notable works, Fortune-Bull (2009), was exhibited in the 86th Salón De Otoño of the Spanish Painters and Sculptors Association in Madrid. His sculpture Afar won first place in the American Art Award competition and received an Honorable Mention from the Professional League of American Artists. Yang’s sculptures embody his perspective on life and nature.
