Artist Biography:

Hal Akins spent 38 years teaching art and coaching football, including 29 years in Laguna Beach. While raising a family, teaching, and coaching, Hal earned a master's degree and augmented his income and experience by teaching art at Saddleback College for 12 years.

“In sports, the action, personalities, emotion, history, colors and shapes all combine to make a wonderful subject for art. I try to convey my feelings about these attributes by using the tools of brushes and acrylic paints, in a way that touches you as much as it does me.”
