Just when you thought it was safe to go backstage the Festival of Arts and Pageant of the Masters brings a monster of a good time back to Laguna Beach!

Get ready to howl with delight because the spooktacular Pageant of the Monsters is clawing its way back to Laguna Beach this fall! Mark your calendars for October 27, 28, 29, and 31, 2023, when this monstrously delightful Halloween event will make its much-anticipated return to the Festival of Arts grounds.

This beloved tradition, resurrected every five years, holds a special place in the cobweb-covered hearts of both locals and visitors. Prepare to be spellbound as you venture into the Pageant’s backstage area and scenic workshops, transformed into a family-friendly haunted house. It’s a bone-chilling celebration of creativity that’ll send shivers down your spine!

This Halloween season is going to be a real treat, full of tricks and monstrous surprises. Don’t ghost this fang-tastic event – be there or be scared!

This event is not recommended for children under 5 years of age. Funds for this event are provided in part by the lodging establishments and the City of Laguna Beach.

Raiders of the Lost Art

Descend into the chilling depths of our haunted house, where the monstrous Minotaur, a nightmarish fusion of man and bull, has been imprisoned by the Greek Gods at the center of the labyrinth of ancient legend.

Your daunting quest unfolds as you help the valiant Warrior Theseus, tasked with a harrowing mission: to rescue the Minotaur’s human captives before they are devoured by the hideous beast.

But the peril doesn’t end there; you must also navigate the labyrinth’s twisting passages and unearth its secrets to find a means of escape. It’s an A-MAZE-ing adventure!

Dare you embark on this treacherous journey through the heart of the labyrinth and face the Minotaur’s horrifying presence?

Yes, but we don’t recommend this event for children 5 and under. The haunted house is more spooky fun rather than terrifyingly scary. There will be lots for children to enjoy outside of the haunted house including Halloween themed art activities, crafts and more! Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Adult admission is $25 day of and $20 in advance, Children 12 and under are $10. There is an additional $5 per ticket service charge. Tickets may be bought online, at the Festival’s box office, and by calling 800-487-3378. The ticket office is open Monday – Friday, 10am to 5pm until the event opens. Hours on event days are 4pm – 9:30pm.

Costumes may be worn by guests ages 12 and under. Costumes may not contain any weapons that resemble or could easily be mistaken for an actual weapon. Guests 13 or older are not permitted to wear costumes to this event. Masks of any kind may not be worn, except for medical purposes.

There is limited parking in the City Lot directly across the street from the Festival of Arts grounds. A fee may apply, please check posted signage. You may also park for free at the Laguna Canyon Lot #16 at 1900 Laguna Canyon Road. A free trolley will take you directly to the Festival of Arts. Parking lot and trolley services begin at 5pm and end each night at 10:30pm. Metered parking is located throughout the city and free after 7pm.

The Festival grounds open at 6pm. The haunted house will open at 6:45pm with tours every 10-15 minutes. Fast passes will be handed out upon entering the Festival grounds. One fast pass per person/ticket.

Food and drinks will be available to purchase at the event. No outside food/beverage allowed. This is a non-alcoholic event.

Yes, there will be a modified route for ADA through the haunted house.

The Festival of Arts complies with ADA and therefore allows service animals. Emotional support, therapy, comfort, or companion animals DO NOT qualify as service animals per the ADA and are not allowed.
